This year’s Pride parade in Chennai was more politically charged than the previous ones. The larger political scenario in the state and the country was one of the primary reasons for the increased vocal assertion. There were slogans and placards against the raising right-wing politics and Hindutva, Hindi imposition and cultural erasure.
