Transgender people in the state of Tripura will be getting a monthly pension of Rs 500, the state government announced on 28th July. In the weekly meeting of Council of Ministers, it was also decided that domestic workers and patients suffering from leprosy and AIDS will also be entitled to the pension scheme. The State Govt. already has 20 pension schemes benefiting more than one lakh underprivileged people and patients.
