The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has announced financial assistance of Rs 1500 for transgender people to help them sail the covid crisis. The announcement of this assistance was made on social media by the ministry.
Union Minister Thawarchand Gehlot wrote on twitter: “The @MSJEGOI announces immediate subsistence assistance to Transgender Persons in view of the current #pandemic situation. The Assistance will be made through DBT Mode for which #Transgender persons and CBOs can submit the details to National Institute of Social Defence.”
CBOs or Trans people will need to fill up an online form to avail the assistance. The final date to apply is May 31st, and the application form can be found by clicking here.
