In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old gay boy from Agra tried committing suicide bv setting himself on fire and sustained 40% burn injuries. According to a report in The Times of India, the teenager was being harassed and teased by a neighbour who had caught him getting intimate with a male friend in a park. He poured diesel on himself and set himself on fire. Neighbours and family member doused the flames on hearing his screams and admitted him to a hospital.
Doctors have said that he is out of danger, but has sustained serious burn injuries on his chest and legs. The boy, pursuing higher studies in science, was described as a bright student by his friends and had earned a distinction in his board exams.
