In a disturbing anti-gay hate crime in Delhi, a Class 12 student was beaten up by a group of men who called him gay. The incident happened in Delhi’s Shakarpur area on Sunday. According to a PTI report, the teenager was going to Ganesh Nagar with his father when two men riding on a bike teased and called the boy “gay”.
The boy objected to this, and an argument ensued. Locals present there pacified the two parties, after which the men left. However, they returned with more men to the teenager’s father’s shop, and beat up the boy, his uncle and brother, who were at the shop, with stones and belts, and later fled.
A case was later registered against unidentified men and police are on the look out for the men.
