4th Pune Queer Pride held on Nov 9th

Pune held its fourth Queer Pride Parade on Nov 9th with more than 300 people showing up to participate in the festival. The theme this year was Youngistan Zindabad, and aimed to make LGBTQI youth come to terms with their sexuality easily while demanding that Section 377 of the IPC be changed.

The pride started around 11.30am from Sambhaji Park in Pune and was awash with slogans in Marathi, Hindi and English. The event was flagged off by Tinesh Chopade, a trustee of the Samapathik Trust that was organizing the pride.

A number of organizations working with queer people, including the Humsafar Trust, Gaysi and Gay Bombay were present at the march.
