Amour, which was launched on June 4th 2016 as a platform to serve Diverse Queer community members find long term partners, has successfully completed an year. From a mere 10s of members on 1st day, it has reached close to 1000+ members in both it’s Facebook groups. This includes close to 200 members that are part of it’s special initiative to serve Female born/Female identifying Queer members group.
It’s various achievements include connecting hundreds of members to each other (last seen, close to 300 people used Express_Interest feature in Amour database to connect to a new person), reaching out to members of many interior small towns of India, such as Assam, Warangal (Telangana), Palakkad(Kerala).
Apart from having a platform for like-minded people to connect to each other in a secure, non-judgemental environment, Amour, along with Orinam, has also collected list of resources across India and the admins actively pass the information to members who are in need, be it needs of mental health, sexual health or other issues.
Amour hence is celebrating it’s year long existence in Bangalore on 4th June at Urban Solace, Ulsoor from 3:00 pm. It would be happy to see as many members, supporters and allies join the celebration.
