It’s been more than 15 days since the Lakme Fashion Week has been officially over and I have been running behind the clock to deliver the men’s trends spotted. Without further ado, here are the men’s fashion trends spotted at the runway of Lakme Fashion Week this season. There was plenty for a man at Lakme Fashion week this season. From Casual to beach wear to office wear to wedding wear. With more than 90 designers including 23 debutants, it was feast for eyes to lust over. As it seems, the whole new breed of young and aspiring – multi talented designer is ready to take the Indian Fashion industry to whole new level.
Ujjawal Dubey
Next Generation designer and NIFT graduate Ujjawal Dubey’s collection called “No more the Hunted” takes inspiration from Middle Eastern Male’s attire. Designer offered masculine and rugged for which the material varied from woven to knit. Colour palate was minimal with the selection of shades of green and blue. The collection reflected the men’s daily wear that has deep resemblance to Afghani, Turkish and Arab Man.

Lalit Sengar
The collection was whimsical with cutting edge construction and perfect tailoring. Male model walked the ramp with onesided-golden-eye mask, giving it all mafia look. The Sengar guys accessorised in gold necklace and the jewel piece that covered the lips and forehand – it was all feast for the eyes. The clothes were created out of Indian textiles like cotton, chanderi and linen. VJ and actor Purab Kohli walked the ramp as showstopper in printed jacket paired up with baggy pants.

DRVV by Dhuv Kapur
Modern age designer Dhruv Kapur has been noticed for his sharp detailing. He created the collection that was unconventional, reflecting duality and duplicity. The two faced garments with more interesting design elements, like coat back jumpsuit, skirt back trouser, and trail dress took over the ramp. The silhouette was created from the fabrics like double sided crêpe, georgette, cotton sateen, organza and silk flat chiffon. The French cuff and built in bow shirt also form a part of these 12 garments collection. The collection was everything an ode to a metro sexual man.

Rajat Tangri
Men’s ready to wear at Rajat Tangri show were unconventional in their colour palette. The colour moved from mint blue to neon, steel grey, ochre yellow and gun metal. Rajat Tangri created a silhouette that offered an utterly masculine attire for a fun loving man. The collection also comprised embellished lapels, polka t-shirts and embroidered shirts. Model walking down the ramp in peach green glittery suit was a feast for the eyes.

Shantanu and Nikhil
Men’s wear remained constant in accordance with the women’s wear at at Shantanu and Nikhil. Looped hem Kurtas were paired with bundies in variety of textures, weaves and colours. Sherwani appeared in quick succession with embroidery detailing on cuffs and collar. Payjamas were kept chudidar while the drape detailing down the knee resembled to kashmiri men’s style.

Theorem by Nitin Chawla
Blending work and resort wear, Nitin Chawla’s collection was practical with attention to meticulous detailing. Nitin opted for linen, cotton, poplin, light weight and printed denim, cotton silk, printed linen and chambray and offered stylish male a line of relaxed shorts, trousers, zippered blousons, cropped biker’s jackets and loose duffle coats. Interesting creations were raglan sporty jacket, denim coat with patch pockets, star printed resort collar shirt, the two way zip pocket bomber and the front zip double-breasted jacket. The final four button slim fit tuxedo with contrast prints is perfect for formal holiday wear

Kunal Anil Tanna
Geometric and floral prints were dominant at Kunal Anil Tanna’s collection called “Indigo Summer”. Colourful Jaipur Prints were evident on machine woven jacket, printed pants, Bermudas and patch pockets. Designer promises perfect metro sexual attire for man who likes to keep it cutting edge elegant and classy. The show ended with dapper Saqib Saleem in printed suit, shirt and trouser.

Archana Kochar
Shades for Men’s silhouette were kept Black and White with ombre effects for Kurtas, horizontal striped closed neck tops with Eiffel Tower print. With her ususual showstopper choice, Archana had very handsome boxer Vijender Singh who deserted the ramp doing some shadow boxing in a striped jacket, kurta and baggy salwar.

Anita Dongre
Men’s wear was stylishly perfect with frayed-edged or unstructured jackets in white linen, waistcoats, sheer shirts, kurtas, closed neck tops, dhotis and slim trousers – all in the shades of old rose, powder blue, buttercup yellow teamed with gold and pure white. With Simplistic and minimal approach to men’s prêt a porter, global desi Anita Dongre knows what ity takes to dress an effortless and utterly flamboyant man and she delivers it to the point.
