‘IDAYINAM (Middle Sex)’ – Freedom of Transgenders is a beautiful short video through which transgender people of India pay tribute to the country. The video features trans activist Kali Subramaniam, and traces the journey of transgender rights in India – from facing violence, unemployment, to finally legal recognition. The video shows them employed in various capacities- as teachers, as auto-drivers, as vegetable vendors, as students; with Vande Mataram playing in the background.
