Supreme Court of India has read down Section 377, and in doing so, has affirmed that love knows no gender, or boundaries. And it is not just gay or lesbian people whose love is frowned upon by the society, but any “non-conventional” couple or love stories have a difficult time finding acceptance. But love is nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to hide, and no other song than the famous Mughal-e-Azam song “Pyaar Kiya toh Darna Kya” tells it better.
To celebrate these non-conventional love stories, Star Gold released a video with various non-conventional couples, as the song Jab Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya plays in the background. The video features various couples – an inter-racial straight couple with a 20 years age gap, trans woman Madhuri Sarode and her partner, a gay couple, an old straight couple who are in a live-in relation, an inter-faith straight couple, a woman and a man (both having children) and a female acid attack survivor with her male partner.
In less than 2 minutes, the video beautifully shows the society how love can transcend boundaries of age, gender, religion etc. The video will surely leave you with moist eyes. Watch it for yourself
