The AIIMS doctor whose wife, also employed with AIIMS as a doctor, had committed suicide in April alleging mental torture by her husband who she discovered was gay, has been put on trial by a Delhi court, Indian Express reported.
In April, the AIIMS doctor had committed suicide at a hotel in Paharganj area of Delhi and posted a note on her facebook page detailing about her unhappy marriage and the mental torture she has had to undergo. Police have charged the doctor with cruelty, dowry death and abetment of suicide. The court will begin recording of evidence against the accused from October 5.
