The Odisha government has decided to recruit people from the transgender community as Jail Warders.
A report carried by The Hindu quoted M. R. Pattnaik, Additional Inspector General of prison: “We have directed the Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission to start the process of recruitment of transgenders. They will compete in women categories.”
Transgender persons will be able to apply for 185 warders’ posts in jails.
