Just one day after Supreme Court ruled that Section 377 was legal, a 23-year-old woman filed a police case against her husband under Section 377 accusing him of allegedly raping and sodomizing her during their honeymoon abroad earlier this month. The case has been registered at Palam police station in southwest Delhi and the husband is absconding.
The police said the woman approached them late on Wednesday night and complained that her husband had confined her, raped and sodomized her repeatedly during their trip to Bangkok.
“In her complaint, the victim said that her husband’s behaviour during their honeymoon in Bangkok caused unbearable physical and mental torture to her. She also said that initially, they were supposed to go to Maldives but her husband took her to Bangkok,” a police official said. Police have launched a manhunt for the husband, who is currently absconding.
